Figures describe records within our client's own operational dataset: 5,791 recorded operations between 28 September 2020 and 22 September 2026, as analysed in September 2026.
01 · The problem
Every operation produced paperwork on site — dive records, work records and the checks that go with them. It was completed in the field, carried back, and filed.
When a client or an auditor needed a past operation's records, finding them meant finding the right folder.
02 · The transition
Rather than moving the contractor onto generic forms, Marine Deep built the digital system around the paperwork, terminology and sequence of work the team already used.
The dive operation stayed at the centre. Its records were created against it on site and belonged to it afterwards.
03 · Real-world scale
The system has been in live commercial diving use since September 2020. Its records now cover more than 5,000 operations, across multiple clients, sites and job types.
04 · Retrieval
Past operations and their paperwork remain in the digital record. Producing them no longer starts with a search through physical files.
Historical feedback from the contractor describes the move away from hard-copy paperwork, and operational records that became easier to access.
05 · Audit use
The platform's records have been used during live customer audits: historical dive records were retrieved from the system and supplied when they were requested.
The record trail
A completed operation is not one document. The dive record and the day's activity are separate documents from the same job, produced in the contractor's own format — which is what makes them usable when a customer asks for them months later.

06 · Continuous improvement
Feedback arising from audit review has been incorporated into the digital workflow, helping make subsequent records clearer and more consistent.
In one documented example, an audit identified ambiguity in the units of measurement recorded on a form. The template was changed so that future records state them consistently.
07 · Where it led
Marine Deep built and supported this platform for our client over six years. Working on it taught us what commercial diving paperwork actually demands: what supervisors fill in on site, what the office needs back, and what an auditor asks for months later.
D.O.P.A. is the product that came out of that work — the dive operation and its records, completed on site, offline where necessary, and retrievable afterwards.
